Sehwag, who arrived in Mumbai in the morning and straightaway got into business, helped ONGC reach the victory target of 179 set by ONGC in just 16.1 overs and with five wickets in hand.
Sehwag, India's successful batsman in the Test series in Australia, but out of form in the tri-series and dumped out of the playing XI because of that, smashed eight sixes and 11 fours before being out third. He had scored 100 of his team's total of 127 when he departed, caught by Vinayak Mane off slow left-arm bowler Kiran Adhav.
BPCL had earlier made a competitive 178 for six in 20 overs with Mumbai Indians' IPL player Abhishek Nayar making 83 off 48 balls as an opener.
Uday Kaul (32) and captain Vinayak Mane (40) were the other main scorers.
In an earlier semifinal, Air India (Delhi) defeated State Bank of Travancore by 15 runs. Air India posted 205 for 3 and later bowled out SBT to 191 in 19.3 overs. Gagandeep Singh (3/34), Sachin Rana (2/43) and Ajit Chandela (2/27) were the main bowlers for Air India.
