The girl told the police that as she is unable to leave the country without her passport, she is “recollecting the horror of the night each day.”
The victim also said she has been in Mumbai since September as part of her India tour. She had come to Mumbai from Delhi where she had stayed for a few days. She had met an Andheri-based youth who was staying as a paying guest at her aunt’s house in Holland and had come to visit him.
“I had heard that Mumbai is a safe city for women at night so I had decided to travel alone,” she said in her statement.
