With poor condition of roads and parking problems, the residents of this ward are at the receiving end. The lack of civic amenities, and no efforts to even provide them, is likely to cost ward councillor Anjala Kataria in the ensuing Municipal Council elections.
Residentspeak
Sushil Malhotra, a resident of the ward says, “Our parking woes have fallen on deaf ears. With a school and a community centre near the market, parking problem is at its worse. What further adds to the agony is the fact that a large part of the market has been encroached upon by the vendors, leading to chaos. I sure want a new sincere councillor to take over the ward.”
Reema Malik, another resident says, “The condition of roads has worsened in the last five years. The streetlights around the ward often break down and are replaced only after repeated complaints. Even the poor sanitation has not moved the authorities to take any action.”
Due to poor sanitation in Kundi village, the problem of water logging worsens during rains, adds Geeta Rani, a resident of Kundi village.

Talking to Newsline, councillor Anjala Kataria said, “The development projects initiated have been satisfactory. Not only were the roads re-carpeted, parks were also developed. As far as the villages in the ward are concerned, concrete gallis were constructed there. The government high school was upgraded to model school.” As for the parking problems in the market, lands have been demarcated to end the chaos, the councillor said.
