The destructive left-hander was hit on his left ear and that's why Cricket Australia had refused to release him for Sydney Thunder's Big Bash match against the Brisbane Heat last night.
However, Warner now has been cleared by CA medical staff though he had suffered a blow on his elbow as well.
"I'm a bit battered and bruised. I might have played if I wasn't hit on the head and the elbow," Warner told Sky Sports Radio.
"It was more my call with the physio Alex (Kountouris) saying it's better off that I rest and recover from the injury so I'm fit for the next Test. I'm still getting a little bit dizzy. It was a good knock, I should have kept my eye on the ball," he said.
Warner had scored an attacking 180 in Australia's comprehensive an innings and 37-run win at Perth.
