Ricky Ponting proved a point - that he is a great captain and can take any kind of Australian division to a victory (remember, most players were 2nd benchers). But, more importantly, he also proved another vital point: that India can lose to any kind of team if it loses the toss. The indian team is highly dependent on the toss, the weather, the pitch, the crowd, the time of the day, the captain and the master blaster.
The failure of India proved that Cricket is also a mind game. jadeja's mistrust on Pravin Kumar's batting ability made him out. Also Pravin did not trust Munaf to score a single. The tail enders should be trained to estimate their strength rather than weakness. With power play on getting the victory target was not a difficult think. Players like Irfan and Yusuf Pathan have that quality
Unless team India has genuine all rounders like Borde,Durrani, Surti, Kapil,Mohinder, Binny, and Madan Lal( to name a few)don't expect to win matches on a consistent basis. The current pace bowlers gave up 220 runs for 3 wickets and scored a total of 12 runs between them. For India to win the remaining matches (& clinch series) it is time to bring back Laxman & Dravid to shore up the line up against Aussies
India become over confident, then complacency sets in and finally defeat, caused in part by excessive media hype.Too much is being made of the Indian team because of the sponsors.
Great effort from Sachin. We have always believed in you. and if there is one person who can do that, it's you. Thank you sachin for entertaining us cricket lovers for all these years. I have grown up to 30 yr old now watching you play. Without you sachin, oh god what the life would have been. thank you and may god bless you
Its very disappointing the way India lost to Aussies. It reminds me of the semifinal of worldcup 2000, when South Africa drew with australia on the last ball. Our last wicket too looked confused and nervous like alan donald and Lance klusner. My heart goes to sachin tendulkar who had again brought us to the door steps of a empirical victory, still very humble during presentation. I would have been upset if it was me in his position, but that man is god of cricket. The loss would be remembered as the most heart broken defeat India had
19 runs in 18 balls with 4 wickets in hand with sachin on crease still India manage to loose
SACHIN- GOD OF INDIAN CRICKET. thanks sachin for entertaining us all these years. we hope u will touch 20000 runs soon in one day cricket . we admire you, adore you. you are the role model for all sportsmen. you are the top scorer in the last 2 matches for india. continue ur efforts. dont believe others. finish it.
Another Tandulkar heroics which fell in vain. How and when will Tendulkar learn that his records have no meaning unless they win games for his country. he should have seen the innings through and won the match for his side.
Cant believe you are blaming Sachin Tendulkar for the loss. Anonymity is great, men with no talent blaming gods for their troubles. What sachin did yesterday was notthing short of valiant and valorous
Last time India scored 350 runs, you guys were bundled out for less than 300 runs. We made 347.. is that what you call thrashing Mr Dan ?
There, there Lalit. I think you need to understand the difference between a champion team and a team of champions. On paper, India should dominate in lots of games. BUT! India rarely plays the complete game i.e. a team game. Perhaps that is because whilst it follows cricket as a nation, sport persee is not an apparent passion. Team sport in particular must not rely on individuals, otherwise it (the team) is ultimately doomed to failure. The unknowns for the Aussies stepped up. No question. As a saffie I hate it but admire it too. They have what they call "mongrel", irrespective of who they are facing or what the circumstances (ie. Tendulkar and mammoth injury toll). Don't whinge - study it, try to understand and emulate it. Who knows? It could win India something of substance one day!
It is very appropriate that Australia have given this 350 runs thrashing to Indians in Andhra. It is mainly Telugu guys who have gone to Oz in the false garb of students, and many even pretending like YSR to be Christians, and have been creating trouble in there. As a consequence they have gotten regular sound thrashings from Ozzies over there. Now very appropriately Ozzies have thrashed them in Hyderabad, and it serves the forgettable memory of YSR right. Jai Ho.
Last time we made 350 runs, you guys were bundled out in less than 300. And we made 347 run.. that's what you call thrashing Mr. Dan ??
Do you mean to say the Australians are so foolish that they give a visa to anyone who claims to be a student? Also, the Australian team is playing with the Indian team, not the local residents of Hyderabad. And what has YSR's religion got to do with cricket? If this is the way in which typical Australians view cricket matches, then you simply do not understand what sport is.
