"Hamas does not have the physical might to withstand Israel's war machine and will cooperate with efforts to achieve a ceasefire agreement with Israel and to reopen Gaza border crossings," Ismail Haniyeh said in his message aired on Hamas television.
In his second taped message since Israel launched its offensive against Gaza, Haniyeh declared that Hamas was determined to continue fighting against Israel.
"Gaza will not break, our victory over the enemies is near," he said in a fiery speech.
"When we watch over you, residents of Gaza, we draw patience and will power from you," the deposed Prime Minister who led his faction to a massive electoral victory in January 2006 Palestinian Legislative Council elections said.

Reading most of the comments here, I feel ashamed to be one of you! Either you people does not have any clue what this conflict is all about or are mere uneducated communal elements. First of all Hamas is NOT a terrorist organisation. Only US, Israel and UK has labelled it as terrorist organisation. And whoever has any knowledge about the conflict and international politics will surely understand the bias of US and of UK in favor of Irsael. USA is biased because of the big Jew lobby in the country and UK has to be with Israel because it created all thsi mess in the first place.We have to understand that irsael is occupying the palestinian land and surely the agressor in this case and that does make Hamas freedom fighters. Hamas is a democratically elected government and of course cannot sit idle and do nothing when Irsael is occupying its land and have confined the palestenians to an open air prison.

(for those who are not aware, Hamas has sent thousands of rockets attacking Israel from 2001 to present operates from kindergartens and hospials using Gaza's innocent citizens as its shield to carry out its terrorist activities.Israel (and people in Gaza)can have peace only if Hamas is removed.
It is so sad to see Israelis slaughtering ordinary and defenceless women, men and children in Gaza. What is equally saddening is the impotency of the world powers in turning a blind eye to the catastrophe taking place in Palestine. Israel is the bigger terrorist in the world and it is supported by countries like USA, UK, etc. There is no other bigger liar in this world than Israel. For them it is within their right to suppress, wage war in Lebanon or Palestine and even kill the innocents. Arrogance will not pay forever.

Yes, Lakshmanan, Israel is not feeding millions of Hindus like you, but the Arab Muslims are feeding millions of your educated co-religionists; Arab Muslims are allowing your Hindus to remit millions of petrodollars daily to India. Millions of your Hindus are living in Islamic Arabian Gulf countries very safely enjoying Islamic tolerance and generosity even when Hindu fundamentalists of your ilk are massacring your Muslim neighbors.

So if they earn from arab countries or any other countries how does it matter. Also if you say that these are hindu's earning from Arab countries, than you need to accept the fact they are very tolerant and can work under any condition by following the rules of that country. Do you ever wonder why that is possible? Because they were not brain washed from childhood to hate a religion. Thats why Indians are prospering everywhere in the world. Also I am an Indian muslim and have reached the zenith through education from a poor neighborhood, you know why? Because in India if you work hard, you will be successful. I would like to add this. India had 4 presidents from the Muslim community within the last sixty years after independence. We had several cabinet ministers and other highly respectable persons in the government belonging to the Muslim community. You can see Indian Muslims occupying powerful and highly respectable positions in every field of life. In fact, the name of the last president from the Muslim community was proposed by the "communal" BJP. The fact is that Hindus, wherever they go, abide by the local laws and don't go for any confrontation. I have not heard even a single case of any Hindu living in an Arabic Muslim country breaking the Islamic fasting rules in the month of Ramadan. People who have been arrested for such offences have always been either Muslims or Christians, definitely not Hindus. I have heard of Christians being arrested for trying to propagate their religion in Saudi Arabia, but not heard of any Hindu being accosted for similar crime. This is because, the Hindus are, generally, law abiding people, wherever they are. In India, they are the most maligned people because of the vote bank politics.
It makes one glad to know that the persistence of israelis and their expertise in warfare is beginning to deliver results. Yes, it is not possible to eliminate completely but the enemy should not be allowed to dream of victory through terror. Lakshmanan, Please make a note that Israel's role in Palestinian territory is same as that of Britishers' in our motherland before 1947. In this world where every country have its own definition of terrorism, one should justify their stand on terrorism, before it declare anyone terrorists. Hamas is the group which has registered its electoral win in Jan 06. There is no justification to kill innocent people any where in the world. Thanks to democracy in India, otherwise we would realise the hidden policy of USA and Israel.USA and Israel and their sympathisers sees opportunities not good or bad. Fighting won't bring any peace to Gazans and sonner they realise, better will be their life. Israel is not going to give up their land re-conquered after 2000 yrs., except if they are wiped out completely from earth. Egypt and Jordan realised this early and have peace agreements with Israel. Hamas must recognise Israel and involve US and Arab countries for state foundation of Palestine as soon as possible. 60 years of Bloodshed has earned nothing for Palestanians but lost more land to Israelis.
Hamas is a terrorist organisation who have openly questioned Israels and the jewish peoples existence, they have also been carrying out unprovoked attacks against israeli civilians. I think Ismail Haniyeh did not said that we don't have physical might, it is true that the Hamas has not have modern war machine as Israel posses, If they allowed to get military aid they will be a formidable opponents to Israel. But due to western powers double standards they are not getting necessities of life, how they can get modern weaponry. These days who are fashioned to lie, and the thinkers of might is right are seems to me are getting ground in rest of the world, and nobody cares about the victims and oppressed. Few reasons for their non-acceptance could be that the Arab rulers have a fear that if they accept the government of Hamas, similar organizations in their own countries would prop up and that would subsequently take away all their luxuries, they enjoy on public money, having no accountability.
