Kathmandu After being in denial mode for months, the Nepalese Maoists have said they are extending "full support and cooperation" to the Naxalites in India, days after Home Minister P Chidambaram mentioned about a possible supply of arms from them.

Admitting that exchanges exist between the Maoists and the Naxals in India, a senior Standing Committee member of the UCPN-M CP Gajurel was quoted on Tuesday by Rajdhani daily as saying, "We have extended our full support and cooperation to the Indian Maoists, who are launching armed revolt."

Talking to pro-Maoist journalists in Bara district of southern Nepal on Sunday. Gajurel, however, did not elaborate on what type of support they have extended to the Naxals.

Chidambaram had recently mentioned about the possible supply of arms from Nepalese Maoists to the Naxals in India.

The same newspaper had earlier carried a report that a Maoist leader had met Indian Maoist leader Kishenji at an undisclosed place in October.

However, when contacted for his comment avoiding direct answer Gajurel said that his party did not oppose the movement being launched by the Indian Maoists.

"They are doing what they think is right," he said. "The Maoists are launching their movement in India and we are launching ours here, there is no need to oppose the movement launched by them", he pointed out.

scratching each others back = Supporting China Agenda by jnansk on 04 Nov 2009

This was known directly and indirectly by all by IAS how Mao's came in Nepal and how they start getting their foot in India. After stamping them out the affected areas must be brought upin meeting basic needs: Employment, water,Medical,Schools, and safe shelters. India's corruption is indigenous but Chinese corruption is widely spread out into many south Asian countries.

It is the UPA Govt. to blame for it ! by Sharad C. Misra on 04 Nov 2009

There you are ! It is the UPA Govt. that is responsible for throwing Nepal to the Maoist wolves. For the sake of the security of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty and to demonstrate its opposition to a Hindu ‘theological’ nation India refused to supply arms and send its defiance forces to help the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) in fighting the Maoists. Since it had cost Rajiv Gandhi his life to send Indian forces to Sri Lanka to fight the LTTE the Maoists who unlike LTTE were lurking in every nook and corner of this country would not have spared Sonia and her siblings. As a consequence the Maoists overrun the whole country and deposed the Hindu King. Back in India, for the sake of winning the general elections YSR lifted the ban on the Peoples War Group (PWG) which later merged with the CPI (Maoists) and is posing a major threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India. And now with the Nepalese Maoists admitting to be helping the Indian Maoists with firearms and training worse times are ahead. The bottom line is that It is the flawed Nepal policy of the UPA Govt. that is solely responsible for the serious situation the country is now facing

CPM... the Monster by ilarum on 03 Nov 2009

Dethrown the Nepal Kingdom, the role of Moists (Nepal)was a open book. During that period and while installing 'Democratic Government' led by Moists (Nepal), our CPM leaders made several visits there. Particulary, Sitaram Yachuri. What transpired between them during those visits. Every one should aware that CPM was a part of UPA-1. It menas the then Home Minister (PC) must aware SRY's plans. It clearly showing that every responsible institute, persons were compramised with security of this Country. PM, Madam PM, HM, FM, IB, CBI, RAW all must know the designs of Naxals

Official policy? by Ravi Jain on 03 Nov 2009

Since the Maoists are now in power in Nepal, is it now the official Nepal government policy to support and arm the naxalites in India? If that is the case, what is the response from the government of India?

re-official policy? by shanker on 04 Nov 2009

Mr Jain-the maoist are the main opposition party in nepal, they are not the party in power. Please do remember the instrumental role India had in dethroning the monarchy and installing the maoists and the other political parties in power. Well the chickens have come home to roost.

Naxal menace by Hero Vaz on 03 Nov 2009

Slow acting and gutless India has brought about this situation. The Naxals should have been mercilessly stamped out as soon as they reared their head. The situation has almost gone out of control. For this, the politicians and the IAS and IPS officers are fully to blame.

We support Indian Naxals..... by Jay Ravi on 03 Nov 2009

Shamefully, it is to be remembered that during UPA-I, Sitarm Yechury was sent to Nepal to do all the liaison work with the Nepali Maoists. This is another example of the Left's perfidy and pro-China leanings. But we can rest assured that we will never learn our lessons.
