Forecast valid until the morning of July 10th. Rain/thundershowers likely at: East: Many places in Assam, Meghalaya+, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura+, Gangetic West Bengal++, Orissa++, Jharkhand++ and a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar.

North: Many places in west Uttar Pradesh+, Haryana+, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir+, east Rajasthan+ and a few places in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand and west Rajasthan.

Central: Many places in Madhy Pradesh(north Madhya Pradesh+) Chattisgarh (north Chattisgarh+) and a few places in Vidarbha.

Peninsula: Many places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka; a few places in Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and isolated places in Gujarat state, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Islands: Many places in Andaman and Nicobar+ and a few places in Lakshadweep.

Conditions are favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Rajasthan during next two to three days.

The low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of west Bengal and Bangladesh coasts has become more marked and now lies as a well marked low pressure area over the same region.

Associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid tropospheric levels. The trough at sea level passes through Anupgarh, Sikar, Lucknow, Patna, centre of well marked low pressure area and thence southeastwards to east central Bay of Bengal.

The off-shore trough at sea level from Maharashtra coast to Karnataka coast persists. The cyclonic circulation over west Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood persists and now exteds up to mid tropospheric levels.

The western disturbance as an upper air system over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood persists.

The above system is likely to move eastnortheastwards.

The cyclonic circulation over Punjab and neighbourhood has become less marked. In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, the day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of west Rajasthan.

Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 168 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 90 cms. Normal for the above 168 stations is 164 cms.

The southwest monsoon has been active in Haryana and east Madhya Pradesh. It has been subdued in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, west Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Cherrapunji, Balasore 4.0 each, Agartala 2.7, Diamond Harbour 2.3, Keonjhargarh 1.8,Imphal1.6, Jamshedpur, Jharsuguda 1.4 each, Puri 1.3, Bashirhat 1.2, Digha 1.0, Midnapore 0.8, Shillong, Rachi 0.4 each,Patna 0.2 and Gangtok 0.1.

North: Many places in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir; a few places in east Rajasthan and isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand and west Rajasthan. Rohtak 6.4, Dholpur 2.9, New Delhi (SDF) 2.7, Pilani 2.0, Bundi 1.3, Bareilly 1.1, Quazigund 0.9, Churu 0.6, Hissar, Shimla 0.5 each, Srinagar, Jammu 0.4 each, Jhansi 0.3, Allahabad 0.2 and Dehra Dun 0.1.

Central: Most places in east Madhya Pradesh+; many places in Chattisgarh and a few places in west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Jabalpur 8.7, Mandla 6.4, Ujjain 4.3, Damoh 3.9, Pendra 3.5, Aatna 2.2, Datial 2.1, Indore 1`.9, Raipur 0.6, Akola, Wardha, Jagdalpur 0. 3 each.

Peninsula: Most places in coastal Karnataka; many places in Konkan, Goa, south interior Karnataka; a few places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and isolated places in Gujarat region, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka. Mahabaleshwar 2.9, Panambur 1.7, Alibag 1.1, Machilipatnam 1.0, Karwar, Cial Cochi 0.9 each, Ratnagiri 0.8, Dohad, Bangalore city 0.7 each, Mumbai, Cannur 0.6 each, Chennai, Alapuzha 0.5 each, Kakinada, Bapatla 0.4 each, Jalgaon 0.3, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolhapur and Ramagundam 0.2 each.
