A peek-a-boo into the tourist spots of Chandigarh gave an insight into the minds of the visitors in the city. Talking to Newsline, many of them said that although the city is well-planned and clean, it needs to add tourist attractions so that the tourists can make the most of their stay here. Master architect Le Corbusier’s planning won the admirers from all round the globe.

Anna and JB from France:
“We like the city because it is different from the other cities of India and is very lively. Also, because of its faint resemblance to Europe and the local outfits of the people, we have developed a liking for it. We are impressed with the tourism facility and did not need a guide as we could locate all the places the help of a map of the city easily.”

Gandabhushara from Indonesia
“I have been staying in the city for the past 6 months. I did not need the services of a professional guide when I came here in the beginning because it is very well planned and everything is symmetrical and easy to find. And though I have visited Amritsar, Shimla and Delhi, I feel that Chandigarh is the best.”

Thivina from Malaysia:
“Chandigarh is not much of a tourist spot. I have been living in the city for a few months and I feel that although it is a good place to live in but does not have much to offer the tourists unlike other cities like Agra and Jaipur. I think that Chandigarh needs to increase the level of cleanliness since people hardly use dustbins here.”

Alpesh Jaferi from Mumbai:
“The city’s tourism facility is satisfactory but there is scope for improvement in quite a few areas. Though it is extremely spacious and has a beautiful architecture, more tourists spots need to be developed to make it lively, especially the night life. The Rock garden stands out as a piece of art in itself. As compared to Mumbai, Chandigarh is a nice place to live a comfortable life.”

Talitha from USA:
“I think that Chandigarh is a nice place for foreigners since the architecture resembles that aboard, the weather is pleasant and the roads are not jam-packed. If given a choice, I would rather stay in Chandigarh than in Delhi.”
