Western Railway runs 292 special trains to handle summer rush

In a bid to clear the heavy passenger rush during the summer vacation, the Western Railway has announced running of 292 special trains this season.

According to Ahmedabad Divisional Railway Manager Rajiv Misra, they include 24 weekly trains between Bandra Terminus and Porbandar and 48 bi-weekly superfast AC specials between Bandra Terminus and Jammu Tawi, besides 24 weekly special trains between Bandra Terminus and Jodhpur.

There will also be 24 weekly superfast between Bandra (T) and Ahmedabad, and an equal number of weekly superfast AC trains between Bandra Terminus and Amritsar among others.

Train number 0983, weekly special, will leave Bandra Terminus every Tuesday at 11.15 pm and reach Porbander the next day at 6.15 pm. The services started from April 15 to and continue till July 1. Its return journey will be on Mondays at 1.10 pm and arrival at Bandra Terminus at 8.05 am the next day.

Train number 0905 bi-weekly superfast leaves Bandra Terminus at 11.15 pm on every Monday and Wednesday, and reach Jammu Tawi on every Wednesday and Friday at 5 am from April 9 to June 30. In return direction, 0906 departs from Jammu Tawi at 12 noon on every Wednesday and Friday and arrive Bandra Terminus on every Thursday and Saturday at 6.55 pm.

Weekly Special 0965 leaves Bandra (T) at 11.25 pm on every Friday to reach Jodhpur the next day at 5.45 pm from April 11 to June 27. In return direction, it leaves Jodhpur at 8.40 am every Sunday and arrive at Bandra (T) at 4.55 am the next day.

Train number 0971 weekly superfast summer special leaves Bandra (T) at 11.15 pm every Sunday to reach Ahmedabad at 8 am the next day from April 13 to June 29. In return direction, 0972 leaves Ahmedabad at 8.05 pm every Saturday and arrive Bandra (T) at 4.50 am the next day. The train comprises AC 3 tier, sleeper class and II class general coaches.

Train number 0981 leaves Bandra (T) at 11.25 pm every Monday to reach Ahmedabad at 8.10 pm the next day from April 14 to June 30. In return direction, 0982 leaves Ahmedabad at 11.15 pm every Sunday and arrive at Bandra (T) at 7.55 am. It stops at Borivali, Surat and Vadodara stations in both the directions.

Train number 0951 weekly superfast AC special leaves Bandra (T) at 11.15 pm every Friday and reach Amritsar at 4 am on Sunday. In return direction, 0952 departs from Amritsar at 2.20 pm every Sunday and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 6.55 on Monday.
