When Rahul's car entered Congress Bhavan on Tuesday evening, a lot of jostling took place at the crowded gate as security personnel tried to keep at bay enthusiastic party workers who surged forward raising slogans “Rahul Gandhi Age Badho, Hum Tumhare Saath Hai”.
Malti Bhor, an old woman who had set up a stall in the exhibition of products of women's self-help group called 'Mansi', which was to be visited by the Congress general secretary, fell down in the pushing around and almost fainted.
Rahul noticed the woman falling to the ground and stopped the car midway. He rushed to Malti, supported her with his hands and took a water bottle asking her to drink from it.
“Please forgive me Maji”, were his words as he made her sit comfortably and left to address Congress workers, a little away in the premises.
The woman smiled and kept the water bottle with her as if it was precious memento.
In a five-minute speech Rahul urged party workers to fight the ensuing elections unitedly and re-install a Congress government-led by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
Earlier, he had a meeting with NCP President Sharad Pawar at Vasantdada Sugar Institute at Manjri, around 25 km from here, where he ostensibly got to know the functioning of Sugar technology and cooperative factories.
Media persons were barred during the 20-minute closed door meeting between the two leaders which occurred in the backdrop of vexed seat-sharing issue between Congress and NCP in Maharashtra.

By giving much publicity to an act any normal person would do, Rauhul is projected and promoted like a saviour, like Jesus giving water to Benhur! When Indians are going to stop hero-worshipping and find leaders who have knowledge and experience and dedication, rather than family names! By his "humanitarian" doing, Rahul Gandhi has "saved" the country (!!!!) like his father "did" - with what result, all Indians know. What Rahul did, any half-decent person would have done in the circumstances. The media foolishly focuses on the petty and often worthless things so called political leaders do to gain cheap popularity so that the politicians can grab power and loot the country.

there is nothing wrong in what rahul gandhi did, it was his duty as a human being. But there is nothing to glorify him too as done in this news. or Indian Express think rahul gandhi is too big for such gustures and if he has done somthing like this he need to be glorified for this? i can accept this glorification only if the people can get roti , kapda and makan which are promised by his family since last 60 yrs but yet to be delivered. brought out every election and forgoten after elections.

The aam adami has cried for all these 5 years and with no achievement to show to the people, Congress Party is trying to publish emotional stories about the crown prince. People of India have learnt their lessons in all these years and all these emotion will not fetch votes any more.

Some of the people commenting on Rahul's action seem to think that he should have ignored the poor woman and gone on to his meeting as if nothing happened. Perhaps he should have behaved like the ardent devotees who in their eagerness for a darshan of the deity ignore the plight of those around them and trample them to death! Give the guy his due; he did what everyone should do.
Rahul Gandhi desrves Oscar for his acting skills. He is crying heart-rendringly for we Indias but there is no tear in his eyes. We don't want this un-solicited sympathy from the yuvraj if if you can do some thing then ask the Congress governments in AP and Maharstra to stop this epidemic of suicides and poverty. Yes, its absolutely a great news of Rahul Gandhi whose family has never helped poor or slums in the country. They support only the businessman like TATA, Ambani, Quottorachi, Satyam Raju, Srinivas and some more businessman. People should understand the real character of Rahul family. To take rest, every time Sonia family people goes to Andaman. Why dont they go to slums and help them instead.

People deriding and ridiculing someone must remember that it could be counter-productive in the end. The same sympathetic media did not report anything about the interview last week where in Rahul claimed that Gujarat was bigger than Britain and that USA Europe is smaller than India.The psychophants immediately clarified that he reffered to the size of population..But then Gjuarat is smaller than Britain both in population and size.The video of this blunder was immediately removed by the concerned site.

WOW Rahul helped an old woman and brought her to tears??? He must be an angel. After decades of inefficient and corrupt rule by the Gandhi family, the least he could do is help this old woman.
