Bush, who telephoned Musharraf from his special aircraft ‘Air Force One’ while on his way to the African nation of Liberia, congratulated the Pakistan President on holding free and fair elections.
During their 15-minute conversation, Bush said the US would also support Pakistan’s efforts to usher in democracy and the fight against terror, official sources said.
Musharraf told Bush that the party that had a majority in the National Assembly, lower house of Parliament, would form the new Government and he would facilitate the formation of governments at the centre and the four provinces, the sources said.
The PML-Q, the party that backs Musharraf, was routed in the February 18 general election which was swept by the opposition PPP and the PML-N. Musharraf faces possible impeachment if the opposition parties unite to attain a two-thirds majority in the new Parliament.

TO SRIDHAR:MUSH OR BUSH BUT CERTAINLY NOT THE INDIAN PRESIDENT.TO RAJA:US WOULD CERTAINLY LIKE PAKISTAN, AND INDIA SHOULD NOT BE JEALOUS OVER IT. IT WAS PAKISTAN WHO SUPPORTED USA TO FIGHT TALIBANS WHEN INDIA, BEING AFRAID OF TALIBANS (FOR HER OWN SELFISHNESS)DID NOT SUPPORT USA, NOT EVEN LET USE THE AIRPORT BASES (THOUGH TALIBANS HAD HIGHJACKED INDIA' PLANE TO KABUL KILLING ONE PERSON AND THEN BJP GOVT. AWARDED THEM BY GIVING A TERRORIST BACK, HOME DELIVERY). AND NOW INDIA IS JEALOUS BECAUSE PAK GETS MORE IMPORTANCE FROM US? SHAME ON YOU INDIA.
Who is the President of Pakistan?Mush or Bush?
Looks like America is Pakistan's 5th province as all the american media, presidential candidates, pentagon, think tanks and people give Pakistan so much importance that sometimes their own elections fade out.We Pakistanis are loving each and every second of world wide media coverage of Pakistan.
