I think Javed Akhtar is one of the few rational and sane voices we hear on TV. He mixes a poet's strong sense of compassion and empathy with a realistic feel for the currents and under-currents in our society. He is always his own man with his own opinions which are always thoughtful. I am happy and proud of him. Happy Birthday Javed!!!

Why have you forgotten that the above filsm were wtitten not by Javed alone but the co writer was Salim Khan, Salman Khan's father. Salim Khan who is generally outspoken aout his views and does'nt parade himself on TV and does'nt speak what the english media wants, i.e Modi bashing, supporting minorytism of this useless UPA government, trying to run down Hindus etc etc the list can be endless. He and his biased wife Shabana Azmi have often ridiculed people with Hindu ideology in particular. He certainly does'nt deserve any birthday wishes. We don't mind if Indian Express wishes him.
