Chandigarh, January 24 MLA Karan Singh Dalal has asked the Haryana government to withdraw work from all the 67 HCS officers allegedly appointed illegally during the regime of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala.

Dalal had challenged the appointments of the HCS officers by Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) in 2002, on the ground that meritorious candidates had been left out, while undeserving people had been given appointments illegally. He said these HCS officers had no right to continue work in important posts in the state, till their names were cleared by the court.

Dalal had alleged that there were large scale irregularities in the appointment of the officers, as their marks had been manipulated to push forward their candidatures. Many of these candidates were relatives of prominent politicians and Haryana government officials, he had charged.

Such gross manipulations had made Haryana Public Service Commission the “Hera Pheri Service Commission”, remarked Dalal. He pointed out that a meritorious candidate Mona Pruthi, who had allegedly been failed by Haryana Public Service Commission, went on to top the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination later. Another girl candidate, Sonia Narang, who was allegedly not allowed to pass, had been selected as an IPS officer later, he highlighted.
