New Delhi, January 15 A 28-year-old woman has accused a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector of rape. The FIR was registered against the S-I two days ago at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station.

The woman alleged she met the Sub-Inspector in Ambedkar Nagar, South Delhi, after a theft had taken place at her Madangir house in November last year after which both met regularly and developed a relationship.

According to police sources, they dismiss this as blackmail, saying the woman had earlier made allegations of rape against a youth in Lodhi Colony Police Station, the District Investigation Unit (DIU) will investigate the case. “We will decide after looking into the allegations," said Anil Shukla, DCP South.

The woman alleged the Sub-Inspector forcefully raped her at her house and threatened not to tell anyone. She also alleged that the police officer molested her on January 7, this year, at her house in Madangir. The victim is being medically examined.

The Sub-Inspector , who is a probation officer, is posted in Security Wing on a temporary basis.

Police officers said the woman originally belongs to Etawa in Uttar Pradesh. The woman works in a private company and had registered a dowry harassment case against her husband earlier, said police.

According to sources said the woman black mailed the Sub-Inspector and demanded Rs 5 lakh from him. She lodged the case after the police officer refused to pay.
