Citing lack of evidence, coupled with faulty probe as the reasons, Metropolitan Magistrate Pulsate Pramachala exonerated Radhika of all charges. The court order stated that Radhika had entered the hostel to enquire about her husband, allegedly having an affair with a girl residing there.
“On the basis of mere apprehensions of the complainant, in absence of any concrete material to support the same, no presumption of guilt can be made against the accused,” Pramachala said in his decision.
According to the prosecution, Radhika had entered the School of Planning and Architecture's hostel premises on November 1, 1995, by signing as a student in the visitors' registration book, in order to commit some offence. She was also found in possession of some objectionable materials, the prosecution added.
A case of criminal house trespass was lodged against her at I P Estate Police Station and she faced a seven-year jail sentence.
