Kolkata, March 10 A 62-year-old woman and her grandson (35) were found murdered near a local nursing home in Falta in South 24 Parganas on Monday morning, police said.

Chanchala Mondal and Dibyendu, residents of Raghunathpur, were stabbed to death, police said. No arrests have been made as yet.

Though the motive behind the murders is yet to be ascertained, a family feud over the ownership of a plot is suspected to be the cause behind the killings. The victims had gone missing from their house on Sunday, following a clash between family members, police said. On Monday, Namita, Dibyendu’s wife, noticed that her husband and his grandmother were not in their rooms. A local resident of Falta also rang up the local police station and informed that he had spotted two bodies lying next to the boundary wall of a nursing home. The bodies were sent for an autopsy later.

“We have detained some family members for questioning,” a senior disctrict police officer said.
