Gurgaon The body of a woman, working as a trainee software designer, was found at her U-Block house in DLF Phase-III on Wednesday. Though the motive is yet to be established, police suspect that the murder may have been committed by an acquaintance.

Sinsi Sebastian (23), hailing from Kerala, was employed with a private firm in Udyog Vihar. The house owner, in her statement, said Sebastian used to leave for work around 10 am everyday. However, she heard no sound from her room on Wednesday morning.

After waiting till 12 in the noon, the house owner opened the door with her set of keys, and found the body. “It was a horrible scene. She was lying down on the floor, and there was blood all over the place,” she said.

The body bore multiple injuries on the neck and head, police said. A knife, the weapon used for committing the murder, was recovered from the spot.

“The room was not in a mess, so we feel that the murderer was known to her. After committing the crime, the murderer locked the door from outside,” said Maheshwer Dayal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

He ruled out robbery as the motive for the crime.
