The week is being organised by Chandigarh Police in association with Indian Oil Corporation.

In his address, Mehra said the condition of Chandigarh 48 years ago was entirely different when there were merely 20 cars in the city, but all these years, here has been tremendous economical development which in turn has led to the growth in technology which is complex and sophisticated.

Women also should wear helmets for their own sake and for the sake of their families, even if it has not been made mandatory by law.
