However, Jayant and Rajat Agarwalla, owners of the hottest free online game on an immensely popular social website called 'Facebook', could not seem to care less about that -- all for the love of Scrabble.
The two young siblings from Kolkata currently get as many as 2,50,000 hits every day on their application called "Scrabulous", which is as good as ad-free, considering the commercial links such applications generally get.
The brothers had never dreamt their own passion of the alphabetical-game would lead them to create such a rage online.
"We just love the game a lot. That's why, we place user-satisfaction on the top. How much we could have earned by putting ads on our application is just anybody's guess," said Jayant Agarwalla, a commerce student at St Xavier's college.
Having developed the application in 2005, the Agarwallas had created their own website "Scrabulous.com" in 2006.
However, their game really stormed the systems when they put their application of 'Facebook' this year, with even the employees of BBC and hosting portal sticking to it.
"We have come to know that another popular social networking website 'Hi-Fi' is also coming up with the API (Application Programme Interface), which means we would be
able to put our application on it too," Jayant said, when asked about what was in the store of tech-wizards.
