The Deputy Commissioner, Mohammed Shayin, stated that it was the first of its kind project dedicated for the service of ailing people, especially cancer patients. He assured the organisers for providing an ultrasound machine through District Red Cross Society.
According to Rotarian Dr Neeraj Parasher, the second phase of the project would comprise an operation theatre and general ward for patients.
“The goal of the hospital is to make medical services available to poor and needy people at ‘no profit no loss basis.’ After completion of the building (to be completed within 6 months), the medical services will be provided by the qualified surgeons.
Cancer awareness campaigns, counselling and palliative care services have already been started and patients avail the service at a nominal cost of Rs 5 for two days.
