Worker killed at construction site

New Delhi, March 20 A 45-year-old man was killed in an accident at a construction site in Sector-63 in Noida. Mansoor Ali sustained serious injuries and died after a newly erected wall collapsed on him when a cement trolley crashed into it.

The incident took place around 3 pm on Thursday. Ali was working on the ground floor of the building at D-209, which, on completion, would house offices of MNCs and BPOs, the police said.

Ali belongs to West Bengal and had been living in a slum cluster in Mamoora village .

Ali’s wife has registered a complaint against the contractor at the Sector 58 police station. S K Dubey, Station House Officer, said, “We have registered a case of negligence against the contractor and are looking for him. Eyewitnesses have been questioned and we have details of his address.”

The contractor is curently absconding, said police.
