Workshop on robotics, huge turnout on first day

Chandigarh, May 18 Robosapiens-India, a society run by the engineering students and graduates of institutes like IIT, NSIT and other engineering colleges organised a three-day workshop on robotics in Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, beginning today.

The society has conducted workshops in institutes like Sherwood College, Nainital, City Montessori School, Lucknow, Delhi Public School RK Puram, Army Public School, Delhi and many others.

With the vision, ‘Let education evolve’, Robosapiens aims to extend the study of robotics in schools so that it helps develop a scientific temper in students. A quiz will be organised on the last day of the workshop.

“The interest and response shown by the girls in robotics is immensely encouraging,” said Aman Sethi, convener, Robosapiens-India. Around 250 students of Carmel Convent are participating in the workshop. Different types of robots like: snooker playing robot, micromouse robot and wireless robot will be covered in the workshop. An interesting fact is that all the robots are made out of scrap.
