New Delhi Amid reports that Pakistan may seek custody of Indian nationals in connection with the Samjhauta Express case, India on Tuesday said it would be better if there is no diversion at this stage as the whole world was watching actions by Islamabad to dismantle terror infrastructure.

"It would be better if there is no diversion or deflection at this stage," Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma told reporters when asked to comment on reports that Pakistan may seek custody of Col Purohit in connection with the Samjhauta Express case.

"I think we are talking here about what is firmly established about the dastardly attack in Mumbai carried out by organisations which have been identified and named and individuals who are nationals of Pakistan," he said on the sidelines of the CII Partnership Summit.

On Pakistan's offer to India to join the probe into the Mumbai attacks, Sharma said let Pakistan first make full disclosure of their investigation.

"I have to say that the whole world is watching how effective actions would be to dismantle the infrastructure of terrorism and also bring to justice those who are responsible for masterminding the carnage in Mumbai," he said.

Mumbai by Jai Khosla on 20 Jan 2009

India is doing the right thing. It is letting Pakistan hang itself. Pakistan is in a damned if you do and damned if you dont situation vis a vis the terrorists. As a sponsor of terrorism it has chosen to support the terrorists and the people of Pakistan support their govt. If they do support the the terrorists then they get a possible stoppage of world financial aid and certain bankruptcy. Pakistan spends 80% of its tax revenue on its armed forces and now it will spend even more, a certain road to ruination. Also regarding Samjautha the crime happened in India and India can try them here. The Mumbai killings happened in Mumbai and people who plotted it must be tried in India. Had Samjautha exploded in Pakistan then it would make sense to send the culprits to Pakistan. But then the Pakistani govt has never made sense about the actions it carries out in any sphere of government.

God helps those who ........ by Rajan Sharma on 20 Jan 2009

I dont think any one has time to watch what Pakistan is doing. Everyone has realized that India has no problem with whatever happened in Mumbai. Such a big country and it cannot handle a small terrorist state - how unfortunate!! Instead of taking an action, they are waiting for others to support us. No one supports the cowards, not even God. Because God helps those, who help themselves.
