"The wounds of the citizens of my state have healed and they are living in peace reaping the fruits of development," Modi said in reply to a question on how he would use development to bring about communal harmony in the state.
However, he said he would be unable to heal the wounds of those people who have been raising these issues time and again as ‘this was their means to earn a livelihood’.
Abdullah intervened to say that ‘such matters’ should not be raked up constantly as it only helps in keeping the wounds unhealed.
"Time has come for us to forget these incidents and wish that those do not recur," he said.
Asked by Singh the reasons of not giving poll tickets to a single Muslim candidate, Modi countered by questioning the Congress party on choosing to field less number of Muslim candidates than in the previous elections.
He claimed that the BJP had several Muslim members at the tehsil and district levels who have won elections.
Modi parried a poser from Abdullah to analyse the defeat of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in the 2004 Parliamentary elections.
"It will not be proper for me to go beyond my area of work -- Gujarat," Modi added.

Narendra Modi is the most wanted and yet the most hated political character of the Indian body polity . wanted by those who supported the grusome acts of murder and mayhem and hated by those falling prey to the Hindutva brand of politics . Modi is a revered character for he did something unprecedented in the independent history of india and drew plaudits from his immediate mentor L.K. Advani and the likes of him for whom communal politics is a passport to success . Didnt modi revel in the charred bodies , the pregnant women chased , raped and killed , kids turned into fireballs and thumped to the ground . The M.P. Ehsan Jaffery was murdered in his own gulmohar apartment . What Mr .Modi wants to heal .The fascism , the anarchy and the field day allowed to the goons and marauders , the indifference of the khakis and the assassination of the minority , that too hapless . What Modi wants to heal . inflicted wounds , muredered kids ,raped women , merciless liquidation of the Muslims .
The collective conscience of India and the peace loving Hindu community was repulsed and outraged at this act of violence. Thanks to the Indian media for playing a fair role in reporting. Except the right wing newspapers, almost all the media was outraged.Documentaries have been made and ample proof is available now. On October 22nd, 2007, Tehelka, India’s leading investigative Magazine has captured the criminals on Camera, admitting their involvement in the genocide, and deliberate annihilation of Muslims. All the while police did nothing to stop the carnage. The Chief Minister apparently gave three days to the extremists to clean out the Muslims.
Parallels can be drawn between Hitler and Modi. Both of them had an Iron clad grip on some of their people, both of them brought economic prosperity while one was annihilating Jews, the other was tacitly letting Muslims be butchered. The ones who were/are reaping the benefits of the unprecedented economic prosperity considered both the men as their God given leaders; their word was the final word to them. However deep down, any soul should feel the intense pain and suffering of the victims, after all without such feeling, one cannot be called a human. Adharma is a bigger killer of a civil society than any weapons of mass destruction.
On February 27, 2002, in the State of Gujarat, India, a compartment of the train was set afire when the train stopped in the town of Godhra leaving 56 Hindus burnt beyond recognition. It was alleged that the Muslims set the fire and poured the gasoline in the bogey carrying the 56 karsevaks (volunteers) returning from a pilgrimage to Ayodhya where a 16th century Mosque was razed to ground by the extremists claiming that it was built on a former temple. Immediately following the Godhra incident, the State of Gujarat witnessed the ugliest of all genocides in human history butchering and burning pregnant women and children by the extremists killing nearly 1500 people and leaving thousands homeless. One of the instigators was a Medical doctor by the name of Dr. Parveen Togadia. According to the Human rights activists and reports, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi was tacitly involved in the carnage. The Federal government run by the right wingers at that time, did not condemn this mayhem, instead the home minister gave a clean chit to the Chief Minister.
Justice is the driving machine of the world peace, whenever there is adharma, dharma (righteousness) counters back to bring an equilibrium to the society. Truth had to emerge one time or the other; you cannot commit a crime and remain quiet forever. Justice has to be met. Hope has to be restored to the victims. When there is justice, people feel secure, knowing that no one is going to take advantage of them or vice-versa, it is one of the safest feelings one can have in a civilized nation and that assures sustainable peace and prosperity to one and all. The other choice is to live in fear, if you do the wrong to a people, your own psyche won’t let you live in peace, unless you do your pra-es-chit (repentance) or restore justice.
WHEN THE INFLICTER OF WOUNDS TALKS OF HEALING THOSE WOUNDS, JUST BEWARE. HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED. GUJARAT UNDER THE GOONDA LEADERSHIP OF NARENDRA MODI IS FULL OF SUCH HYPOCRATES.
Who is Narendra Modi trying to kid? On February 28, 2002 Gujarat was scarred, profoundly and airrevocably through well-planned and meticulously executed acts of violence under the direct supervision and dictates of Narendra Modi. In just one space in the heart of Ahmedabad, Gulbarg Society saw 70 persons massacred. For over six years, the residents of Gulbarg Society have together resisted the sale of this once living housing society to hawks from among the criminals. Today the space lies vacant but is crowded with battered memories. Through deeply depressing moments, made worse by excruciating legal delays, the residents of Gulbarg Society needed something positive, something energising and lasting to focus on. This idea of resistance emerged out of tragedy and gloom but more particularly, it was born of the close emotional bonds with each of the victim survivors, what the Gulbarg Society residents call our family. On February 28 each year they meet for prayers and remembrances.
When wounds were given to victims nobody took necessary, required actions to control riots. The depth of wounds is so deep that cannot be easily forgotten by the relatives of victims. Actually, simcere measures must be taken to heal wounds of people of Gujarat and assurance for no such repeatition of such inhuman activities.
