Yeddy ultimatum to BJP: Give suitable post by Jan 15

Bangalore Sulking former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today virtually set a deadline for BJP leadership to give him a suitable position, saying he will wait till January 15 for the party to take a decision.

Yeddyurappa, who has been lobbying for a suitable position ever since he was removed from the post of chief minister in August last year on corruption charges, exuded confidence that the BJP high command would take a decision at an "appropriate time" on his demand for which he would wait till January 15.

He told reporters here that if need be he would visit Delhi during the second week of this month. "Let me see what will happen. I will wait till January 15," he said.

Yeddyruppa's remark comes amid reports that he might float his own party if the BJP central leadership does not meet his demand by then.

The former chief minister ruled out the prospect of a mid-term poll in the state and asserted that the BJP government would complete its full term, which lasts till 2013.

Earlier, a delegation of BJP MLAs from the city, under the leadership of Home Minister R Ashoka, met Yeddyurappa and leaded with him not to take any "hasty decision" on his future political course.

Ashoka said they appealed to Yeddyurappa not to leave the party, apparently referring to reports that he might float his own party if the BJP central leadership did not respond to his demand for rehabilitation.

Yeddyurappa was made to quit by the central leadership after he was indicted in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining and replaced by D V Sadananda Gowda, who was considered his loyalist but is now trying to come out of his shadow.

Gowda has been maintaining that he would continue as chief minister till the next assembly elections.

Yedyurappa's loyalists have been insisting that either the party re-instate him as chief minister or make him the state party chief.

Last week, Yeddyurappa and state BJP chief K S Eshwarappa were locked in a war of words over leadership issue.

In an angry outburst, Yeddyurappa has accused Eshwarappa of trying to oust him from the party and even being responsible for sending him to jail.

Eshwarappa had said no position could be given to Yeddyurappa till he came clean in the corruption cases.

Yedyurappa a Mass leader by Uday on 03 Jan 2012

''Yedyurappa is a mass leader and keeping him out of any political activity is not a good sign. Yedyurappa is required for all the communities as he is the tallest leader in Karnataka BJP. One should not forget that when he was giving up the CM chair he did not recommend his own fellow Lingayat leader Jagdish shettar. Instead he selected a Vokkaliga person Sadanand Gowda. This clearly demonstrates that Yedyurappa is a Politician accepted by all caste. He is an undisputed leader and enjoys the support of most of the MLAs. The high command should think that Yedyurappa had gracefully left the CM chair on their advice and instruction. Now it is their moral responsibility to give him a suitable post. BJP in Karnataka has already in the diminishing/sinking stage due to lack of a aggressive leader. Eshwarappa is neither a good orator nor a charismatic leader when compared to Yedyurappa. So Yedyurappa should be given the BJP President post immediately to ensure the defeat of most Corrupt Cong

The viscious circle by SK Iyer on 03 Jan 2012

There is not a single party that is not interested in mining and minting money. Also there are corporate bodies who are also in the business. The Indian media, on the other hand play a major role in helping all these elements. Precisely, common good is still/will remain a far cry, unless and until strong political and electoral reforms are introduced, which has a remote chance with these people around, mudslinging each other. Poor people who see only this mudslinging and not their behind scene movements for just power and money at the cost of the country!

YEDDY SHOULD FORM A NEW PARTY IN THE STATE by sriraman on 02 Jan 2012

YEDDY BUILT THE BJP. ONCE A STATE LEADER BUILDS A PARTY IN THE STATE AND BRINGS TO POWER, THE CLOWNS IN DELHI (SO CALLED HIGH COMMAND) TRY TO COME IN AND INJECT THEIR CRONIES. THATS HOW THE CONG AND BJP LOST MANY STATES. IT IS TIME THAT KARNATAKA BECOME A TWO PARTY STATE (GOWDA-DEVE GOWDA, LINGAYAT-YEDDY)LIKE THE DMK & ADMK IN TAMIL NADU. THEN KARNATAKA CAN DICTATE TERMS TO CENTRAL GOVT LIKE KARUNANIDHI, JAYA, MUMTA, PAWAR, LALU, MULAYAM, ETC.

Yeddys Threat by D.A.Bhonsley on 02 Jan 2012

The BJPs Central leadership should not bow to the threat Yedds as he has already done immense damage to the BJP in karnataka by his corrupt deeds. The BJP party can be rebuilt in karnataka even if he is dismissed from party by an honest and dedicated leadership.

Yeddy ultimatum to BJP: Give suitable post by Jan 15 by Jairaj on 02 Jan 2012

If some one thinks that he/she is larger than the party, then he/she must be shown the exit gate. There are many such people in Karnataka BJP, who brought down the images of great leaders like Atalji and Advaniji.Let BJP re-construct new party cadre.

YEDDY EMERGING AGAIN ON THE STAGE OF POLITICS by Indianglobal on 02 Jan 2012

He has been made a fiasco and a mess in the Sounth by exploiting the reputation of the political party BJP. He is well known amid Indian BJP politics as one of the valuable corrupted CM at all, adjectiving specialist in the illegal land scam and nepotism. He deserves a long term prison against his criminal offences and he should not have a place in Indian politics again to encourage corruption. He will produce further mess and loss of image for the future of BJP.

shwarappa removal is simple rather than BSY by acitizen on 02 Jan 2012

eshwarappa is just a small peck in BJP but BSY is not like him. BSY is like an elephant but eshwarappa is an ant !! I am sure bjp will realize this. I feel throw out eshwrappa and make BSY the president of BJP and i am sure he will rejuvenate the party. Keeping eshwarappa will harm greatly to the party and i AM SURE THE BJP GOVERNMENT WILL COLLAPSE BY 20TH OF THIS MONTH.

Better make Yeddi the President of BJP by Pradeep on 02 Jan 2012

Better tomake Yeddi the President of BJP so that he is made fully happy - otherwise, he will continue to make problems for BJP and the leadership cannot move a single finger against him for obvious reasons - Soure of funds.

A LOLLY POP MUST BE GIVEN TO REDDY by RAKESH KAPUR on 02 Jan 2012

THE PERSON WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENTRY OF BJP IN THE SOUTH MAY NOT BECOME A WORRY POINT FOR THE BJP IN COMING DAYS. FOR THIS BJP MUST ADDRESS HIS CONCERNS OTHERWISE HE IS GOING TO PUT A BRAKE ON THE BJP'S FUTURE ADVANCES IN SOUTH.

Reply to Rakesh Kapur on Yeddy Ex-CM by Jay Kumar on 03 Jan 2012

BJP must come clean rather than worrying to hang on to power in Karnataka till 2013. Yeddi must be shown the exit door though he served the interest of the BJP in the past. Otherwise BJP must say WELCOME to UPA-3 in 2014 at the Center.

Yeddy should be in the Doddy by Dr. KB Vijayakumar, Ph.D., on 02 Jan 2012

Nobody is above the organisation. BJP should allow him to do what he wants to do...let him go...good riddance of bad rubbish...then ask Raghavendra also to resign or dismiss him for anti-party activities....both of their political careers will be over then...Yeddy thinks too much of himself....
