Islamabad (Pakistan) Television reports say prolific batsman Younis Khan has been named Pakistan cricket captain in place of Shoaib Malik.

"Younis has agreed to lead the side after meeting with officials of the PCB for 15 minutes," Pakistan's GEO television said Tuesday.

Malik was appointed captain for an indefinite period earlier this month, but the Pakistan Cricket Board has been under pressure after the national team suffered its heaviest ever limited-overs defeat against Sri Lanka at Lahore on Saturday to lose the three match one-day series.

Sri Lanka, which lost the first match by eight wickets, went on to wrap up the series with a 129-run win in the second match and a 234-run victory in the third.

The attitude of the Pakistan cricket players has to change . Who ever becomes the captain unless the attitude changes the team will not be able to perform.
