Karachi Urging the Pakistan Cricket Board to lift the ban on ICL players, Mohammad Yousuf said the PCB should stop towing the Indian Board's line on the matter as it was not getting anything in return.

Yousuf, who joined the Indian Cricket League (ICL) after being ignored for the national team on several occasions, said BCCI's pressure was the only reason behind the PCB's insistence on banning ICL players as the twenty20 venture is yet to be declared rebel by the ICC.

"I just say the Pakistan board should take its own independent decision it should not tow the line of the Indians. What have they given us? They even refused to tour the country recently," Yousuf fumed.

"There is no such ruling from the ICC on ICL players. Tell me are we committing some crime going to play in the league? I say there is nothing to stop the board from lifting the ban on us if it wants too. Javed Miandad is now director general and he should keep his word," he added.

Yousuf also lashed out against national captain Shoaib Malik, former chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed and some other officials for treating him "badly".

"Tell me on what grounds did they decide I was not fit for twenty20 cricket. What was the criteria for deciding this?," Yousuf said on the Geo Super channel on Monday night.

"Tell me how did Shoaib Malik deserve to be the captain. How can you make a player a captain who is not certain of a place in the national Test or one-day team," Yousuf said.

He said Malik was perhaps the first example in Pakistan cricket history where a player who didn't command an automatic place in the Test or one-day side was made captain.

Paki dirt by Hero Vaz on 14 Jan 2009

Are Paki cricketers going to play in India? What can be more shocking and degrading? Paki cricketers should be boycotted. They should not be allowed to sully Indian soil.
