Youth held with explosives on Nepal border

A youth from North Dinajpur district was arrested with explosives on the Indo-Nepal border on Thursday night. Abbas Ali (21) was apprehended at Panitanki by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and large quantities of detonators, timers and explosives were recovered from his possession.

SSB sources informed that the detainee was being interrogated to ascertain his network and motive. Meanwhile, an officer with the Siliguri police said that they were aware of the arrest, but Ali was yet to be handed over to the local district police. The North Bengal districts have recently witnessed a surge in the arrests of several persons in similar cases.
