New Delhi, February 29 The east district police arrested a 21-year-old boy on Friday for stage-managing his own abduction to extort money from his father.

Police had received a complaint from one Vishnu Kumar on February 25, who makes cardboard cartons, that his son Rohit Kumar was missing from their Farsh Bazaar house.

Kumar said he was told over the phone that said his son had borrowed

Rs 50,000 from the caller and he would be released only if he repaid the money.

At the rendezvous at Shahdara Metro station, police arrested one Bhoora alias Shiv Singh (20). During interrogation, Bhoora revealed that Rohit himself had planned the ‘kidnapping’.
