Gorakhpur Two motorcyclists were run over by an unidentified car in Gorakhpur on Friday night, which locals alleged belonged to the cavalcade of Bhojpuri singer and SP candidate from Gorakhpur Manoj Tiwari.

According to police, the victims Rajkumar Gupta and Pintu of Sangrampur village were crushed by the speeding car near Jarlahi bridge here. The bodies of the duo were found by villagers soon after the accident.

Claiming that a car in the motorcade of Tiwari killed the two, angry villagers held a demonstration till 2:30 am and relented only after police assured them a fair inquiry into the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police R K Srivastava said the identity of the vehicle has not been established yet but the investigation is on, adding the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Reacting to the allegations, Tiwari, the SP candidate from Gorakhpur Sadar Parliamentary seat, said "these allegations are baseless. This is a political conspiracy against my growing fame in Gorakhpur".

"Everyone including the media has seen that during the roadshow, my car follows the police jeep. So if my car had caused the accident, it could have been stopped or media would have telecasted it," he was quoted as telling TV channels.

TIWARI'S TROUBLES by Niranjan on 08 Feb 2009

WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME A POLITICIAN IS IN TROUBLE HE/SHE CLAIMS IT TO BE A CONSPIRACY TO MALIGN HIM/HER OR THE CONCERNED POLITICAL PARTY. HAS ANY NETA EVER ACCEPTED THAT SOMETHING HAPPENED, WHICH HE/SHE IS NOT DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR, BUT BEARS A MORAL RESPONSIBILITY? BUT THEN, THOSE KINDS OF NETAs DON'T EXIST IN OUR MIDST. THEY ARE ALL DEAD AND GONE AND ARE REPLACED BY THE MOST CORRUPT AND IRRESPONSIBLE, UNACCOUNTABLE, MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE. ALSO, THE ACTORS ARE BETTER AT IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW HOW TO SHOW THEMSELVES AS WHAT THEY ARE NOT. GOD SAVE THE MOTHERLAND!

Change in Police by D.S.Mohapatra on 07 Feb 2009

It his high time the police starts to take responsibility of what they do. It has become high time to make the police free from political clutches and make them do their jobs. Some time it make me wonder the boys and girls who give IPS and IAS and struggling to a job were they are employed to clean the mess of the politicians. The IPS and IAS lobby should stand and revolt against the Political Mafia and ask for More autonomy. Dont forget this is your country and you have to fight for it. Now in the above case like many other cases the issue has turned political and in the end not single man is convicted. The police shpuld behave more responsibly. it should treat every family as Sonia Ghandhi family
