The rookie medium pacer, replacing the injured Umar Gul, jolted India with a three-wicket burst on Saturday morning, removing in-form Wasim Jaffer (17), dependable Rahul Dravid (19) and stylish VVS Laxman (5) to leave India tottering at 61 for four.

However, the left-handed duo of Yuvraj (169) and Ganguly (125 not out) put their foot down and took charge.

"We were in a fairly good position in the morning but all credit to the fifth-wicket pair that pulled the Indian team out of trouble. It was really disappointing to us," Arafat said.

The youngster reckoned the track became easier to bat on in the second session but asserted that the visitors had not given up yet.

"The wicket eased out after lunch and now it looks very good for stroke play. The bowlers had to struggle after lunch. But we will make a fight back in the morning," he said.
