Indore, November 17: Yuvraj Singh blasted his second consecutive century and grabbed four wickets to spur India to a 54-run win over England in the second one-dayer on Monday.

The 26-year-old top-scored with 118 to lift India out of trouble and to an imposing 292 for nine before denting England's fightback, earning the hosts a 2-0 lead in the seven-game series.

England collapsed to 238 all out after Yuvraj ended a 96-run second-wicket partnership by removing both Owais Shah (58) and Matt Prior (38) in successive overs before returning 4-28 bowling slow left-arm spin on a sluggish pitch.

He returned to dismiss Andrew Flintoff (43) and skipper Kevin Pietersen (33) in the same over after their racy 74-run fourth-wicket partnership had kept alive England hopes before they lost four wickets for eight runs.

Yuvraj, who stroked 138 not out to set up India's crushing 158-run win in Friday's first contest of the seven-match series, took over after paceman Stuart Broad's triple strike left the hosts reeling at 29 for three.

He struck his 10th one-day hundred and raised 134 runs for the fourth wicket with opener Gautam Gambhir, who made 70 for his second fifty of the series.

Broad removed Yuvraj to return four for 55 but Yusuf Pathan hammered 50 not out from 29 balls on his 26th birthday to help India regain the initiative.

The third match will be played in Kanpur on Thursday.

Some people here are jelous of Marathis by praveen patil on 17 Nov 2008

Some people who gave their comments below are so jelous of marathis that they change their names and pretend to be marathis. One should realize that without maharashtar the rest of the states are just beggers, there is no development what so ever. If Maharastra is not there probably these people will not even have dhoti to wear. So before making derogatory comments about marathis these bhayya's should understand.

This is not what we are talking about , you moron by vrisika on 18 Nov 2008

Are marathis now not a part of India Good riddance of rubbish. Go and form your own country because Maharashtra belongs to everyone.

I bet you have never been out of maharashtra or you are so stupid you can't see and comprehend anything.

hello by marathi on 17 Nov 2008

HELLO marathi people Use marathi language to write Comments First marathi then English

No marathi by Indepenedent on 17 Nov 2008

Suresh Lotankar! Please Check your head before writing this.We have no objection in dropping players not performing well irrespective of their cast, creed, relegion, language etc. You try to make an OS in Marathi,do not use windows, try to type marathi while entering comments, do not travel to any part of the world, since most of the vechicles are developed by non-marathi speaking people, do not wear anything since the weaving is not invented by marathi peoples, don't use internet deevloped by english people

There should not be any match without Marathi player by Anil Mulgaonkar on 17 Nov 2008

There should not be any match without Marathi player. First Maharashtra and Marathi then comes India.

Why there was no Marathi player in this match ? by Suresh Lotankar on 17 Nov 2008

Why there was no Marathi player in this match ? Seems to be a conspiracy of Hindi speaking people against Marathis. We will take up this matter with Raja Saheb Raj Thackeray. We need scoreboard in Marathi only and no english please. Indian captain must take Raj Thackeray into confidence while selecting team. That way we can ensure sufficient Marathi representation in the team.

Sure by Anil Paranjape on 17 Nov 2008

Lets make a team of Raja saheb Raj Thakrey and others and send them to Australia for a cricket match. Its funny to see raj Thackrey ducking in his dhoti.

Yuvi by Raj Patel on 17 Nov 2008

YUVI, Don't waste your talent after late night parties and that kind of behaviour as INDIA lost in past talent like Sandeep Patil ,Vinod Kambli. If you want your name in the histry book you must be diciplined otherwise after few years you have to blame yourself. This is not an advise but suggestion.

Yuvraj, say no to tests!!!!!!!! by Rajesh Chhatlani on 17 Nov 2008

please..if a player is doing well in 20-20 and odi format..dont think of giving him a test place...yuvraj's tech and temperament is not ideal for tests..

2nd ODI by Gina Ferns on 17 Nov 2008

Well done Team India. Dhoni you and your boys are unbeatable when you all play as a Team. Well done! Make it 7 - 0 against England and jump to 2nd spot in the Rankings.

Yahoooooooooo!!!! by Chetan Rao on 17 Nov 2008

Good to see the players coming together. Since it is 2-0 now, the Indians must try to attempt a clean sweep and make it 7-0 which would be just terrific !!!!. Easier to tell and harder to play, but nothings impossible with the present form.

Kudos again by ravyrao on 17 Nov 2008

Yuvi - you are great. Dhoni and team again proved. come on guys. keep it up. Kodos,

Yuvaraj's second consecutive ton by N.RAAJ KOUSHIK on 17 Nov 2008

Congrats Yuvaraj. You have steadied the innings of India by your excellent knock. I wish you maintain this form. I am sure you will be batting till the 50th over to bring excellent respect to the Indian total, which will post a good challenge to the Visitors.
