Yuvraj’s coach booked for rape, in Hisar jail

Hisar, August 18 Former coach of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Bawa, is in Hisar jail after he was booked at Hisar Civil Line Police Station for allegedly sexually harassing a gold medallist Judo player.

Police sources said a case has been registered against Sukhwinder Singh alias Bawa and three others for abducting and sexually harassing a Judo player on a complaint filed by girl’s father. He alleged that her daughter was abducted from Sir Chhotu Ram Chowk popularly known as Fauhara Chowk on July 17. The police said the girl was found at her friend’s house in Meerut on August 1 from where she was brought to Hisar.

Police said that Sukhwinder Singh Bawa was arrested from Chandigarh on August 12 and was produced in the lower court on August 13 from where he was sent to Hisar Jail for 14 days.

Apart from Bawa, Naresh and Vikas of Madina in Rohtak and Suman of Bamla in Bhiwani are absconding.

Two more names also came to the fore but were not listed in the FIR registered at Civil Line Police Station of Hisar.

Police said that girl was allegedly raped in a room of faculty house of Haryana Agriculture University by Sukhwinder Singh Bawa.
