Shreya Ghoshal won the best female playback singer award for 'Teri Meri' (Bodyguard). Rajat Arora won best dialogue award for 'The Dirty Picture'.

In the technical awards category, Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Saath Khoon Maaf' won awards for best art direction (Subrata Chakraborty and Punita Grover), best costume design (Payal Saluja). The cinematography award was shared by Ranjan Palit (Saath Khoon Maaf) and Chirantam Das (Tanu Weds Manu).

Shahrukh Khan's magnum opus 'Ra.One' won three awards – Resul Pookutty and Amrit Pritam Dutta got best sound design, best special effects (Red Chillies VFX), and best sound mixing (Anup Dev and Tarun Bhandari).

Aarti Bajaj got the best editing award for 'No One Killed Jessica'.

Filmmakers Farah Khan and Karan Johar hosted the award ceremony and entertained the audience with their wit and humor.
