Zardari is a criminal, a fraud and a third rater: Musharraf

Musharraf

Islamabad The relationship between Asif Ali Zardari and his predecessor Pervez Musharraf is not at all good and it was reflected in an interview when the General called the Pakistan President a “criminal”, a “fraud” and a “third rater”.

In an interview with noted journalist Seymour Hersh, Musharraf said that Zardari would go to any extent to save himself.

Hersh, in a detailed report on Pakistan, wrote: “Musharraf did not spare his successor. ‘Asif Zardari is a criminal and a fraud. He’ll do anything to save himself. He’s not a patriot and he’s got no love for Pakistan. He’s a third-rater’.”

Musharraf said that he and General Kayani, who had been his nominee for Chief of Army Staff, were still in telephonic contact.

He said he didn’t think the Army was capable of a mutiny. “There are people with fundamentalist ideas in the Army, but I don’t think there is any possibility of these people getting organised and doing an uprising. These ‘fundos’ were disliked and not popular.”

“The Muslims think highly of Obama, and he should use his acceptability — even with the Taliban — and try to deal with them politically,” The News quoted Musharraf, as saying.

Musharraf spoke of two prior attempts to create a fundamentalist uprising in the Army. In both cases, he said, the officers involved were arrested and prosecuted.

“I created the strategic force that controls all the strategic assets — eighteen to twenty thousand strong. They are monitored for character and for potential fundamentalism,” he said.

Musharraf acknowledged that things had changed since he’d left office. “People have become alarmed because of the Taliban and what they have done. Everyone is now alarmed.”

Hersh said Pervez Musharraf lives in unpretentious exile with his wife in an apartment in London, near Hyde Park.

Mushy is no different by Riaz on 16 Nov 2009

Mushy is no different from Zardari. Both are looters who cheat and bulge their pockets. The difference is Mushy came 1st and zardari later.

Myths of leadership by Zubair Qureshi on 14 Nov 2009

No one knows what the educational qualification of Zardari is. It is a proven truth that he cannot write even one sentence correctly. It is also a fact that his claim of getting democratically elected to the position of the president is a criminal farce. He he lay his claim to the party leadership and the presidency through a crafted "will" of Benazir Bhutto. Fate of nations is not willed out. He speaks in a pretentious manner and one can see that he does not know what he is saying. He was a small time crook and illegal occupier of other people's property till Bhutto family fell in his lap. As for Musharaf, he does not know good from bad. He has no vision and is a bad judge of people, politics and situations. His dependence on people like Sh. Rashid, Ch. Shujaat, Shaukat Aziz, Kashmala Tariq speaks volumes of his own caliber. He does not have an iota of knowledge about religious sentiments of the people. he staked the future of the nation for personal gains.

Wow by Abbasi on 14 Nov 2009

In response to Imran: Wow, who are you to call someone corrupt as no evidence was proven against him! Seems like you're the inside man! Yassir Arafat was considered terrorist, but then he opened up diplomacy doors, the World doesn't recognize him as terrorist anymore. Zardari is clean of such cases, BRING evidence if you have. Musharraf, saving his own head in London right now, and talking about someone to "go any extent to save himself" doesn't suit him, he himself went to Saudi Royal House to get himself saved from being dragged to Pakistan for trial. If he has love why he is outside; maybe now he realize how it is being away from country and now allowed. This is a Great Revanage fro Democracy by PPP as said "Democracy is the best revange" by BB. Rot in hell you filth, and never could you Pakistani land no more; Even your telephonic talks with General Kyani wouldn't help you, what were you trying to prove by that, that Government'd go tense. You're gone baby Sindis in Power

CEO Rumsha Constructions pvt ltd by amerkhattak on 12 Nov 2009

Musharaf should come to Pakistan and then say what he wants to say, and Zardari should step down urgently as he is the most non popular president of Pakistan and criminal allegations are on him. Both of them should clear themselves and come into the politics and let the people of Pakistan decide.

Musharraf vs Zardari by Syed Ahmed on 22 Nov 2009

Another NRO would be required for Musharraf for his permature return to Pakistan. Just wait and see the popular support will reinstall him as President of Pakistan.

Musharraf was better then Zardari by Imran on 12 Nov 2009

I think musharraf was a much better presedent then Zardari. I don't understad that y pakistani people can't understand the truth. Zardari is a most ccorrupted person in Pakistan history. Every Pakistani knows that but, no body talks.y? I think that is the sign of a uneducated nation. What about Musharraf. He was the best presedent of all time of Pakistan. Pakistan grew a lot in his leadership. Just look on Pakistan Economy in his period. Pakistan economy was growing by the ratio of 8.4% which was second highest in the world after China at that time. Now a days economy is growing by the ratio of just 2% worst then African Countries. The bad think of Musharraf was that he worked for USA. That was his only mistake. every body opposing musharraf just because of this mistake. I also oppose his policy of working for USA. beside of this mistake, he was a great presedent of Pakistan History. I think he will be back when the people of pakistan will realise the truth.

Zardari's image in common man's eyes. by Lt Col (Retd) Syed Ahmed TI(M) on 11 Nov 2009

Zardari's image in common man's eyes. Beyond doubt what Mr Musharraf has said is simply true. Zardari is not only a. criminal, a fraud and a third rater but a murderer. He entered Presidency through back door by getting his estranged wife eliminated. Mr. 10% was responsible of distorting the good image of the stateswomen %u2013 take it from me, may even get his son Bilawal eliminated if need arises. Musharraf can%u2019t simply get away for by throwing Pakistan into disarray. He should have blocked Zardari getting in to Presidents house through the back door, instead offered the chair to any old guard of PPP like Dr Mubashir Hussain.

PV Soman, romesh sharma, waqas sami by Ambreen Kamal on 11 Nov 2009

Yes SOMAN its very true... Zardari & Musharraf R the faces of the same coin! Neither Zardari nor Musharraf is liked in Pak. Though Musharaf was a bit better while talking and dealing in stuff. But they both have stolen the public money,& still doing. Secondly,Romesh, Do u know that Mush PALACE is still running on illegal power connection! check out on google, There are various cases regarding in corruption, against him, such as Privatization of steel mills, etc. Steel Mill was dealt to be sold on the price, which was less than the scrap available in the mill. This was later canceled by the Chief Justice. Waqas:Can V people of India & Pak, act like mature humans. Since 60 years V R in animosity. The corruption in India and Pakistan, is bcoz, we never spent our good money on system building, health, education, but only on military. In the end i would like to quote Mandela "No one is born hating another person; they must learn to hate, if they can learn to hate, they can b taught 2 love."

MunnaKhan by Munna Khan on 11 Nov 2009

Musharraf is a hero of Pakistan, he have save Pakistan , its nuclear weapons, and Scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan 9/11 plan of America was not to enter only Afhhanistan but also Pakistan THe decison took by MR. Musharraf would be realized in the future soon. He is not hiding anywhere or a refugee he would be soon in Pakistan

Musharraf's allegations---- by romesh.sharma on 10 Nov 2009

Beyond any doubt what Mr Musharraf has said is simply true.Looking back to administrative skill(as a dictator or elected Prez)he did the best services to his nation.None and never in the history of Pakistan had shown and worked with absolutely sincerity to save his Nation which was on the verge of failed state and could disintegrate if Nawaz Sharif had continued for another year or so.Though he is/was most unscrupulous enemy of our country,India, but that is of our concern and interests. If ever situation like Pakistan comes India may act even to still meanest ways which is no evil as far as the action is intended to protect/defend the nation and its interests. When I read some Pakistanis criticize and condemn Musharraf it makes me realize how opportunists,short-sighted and ignorants they are.Musharraf dealt with a philosophy of modernity keeping Islamic values intact. He knew how to deal&bargain rebellions. The greatest blunder done was Kargil and he should've apolozided India openly

India is supporting terrorist in pakistan by waqas Sami on 10 Nov 2009

Pakistani Taliban forces have been supported by India, during the operation in Swat and now in waziristan Pak Army have got clear avoidance in the shape of Indian weapons, bullets etc, Taliban is fully supported by Indian Government and Raw and Rama newly established intelligence agency of India which is very much active in Afghanistan, more than two dozen Indian consulates are in Afghanistan working only on single agenda and that is to destabilize Pakistan, India is the number one enemy of Pakistan, the poor uneducated Talibans are being brain washed by Indian agent sitting in Afghanistan they have so far spent trillion of dollars to destabilize Pakistan if they had spent only half of it on their own people not a single family slept hungry in India, in india 140 million people sleep with out having dinner, indian please spend your money on your own people not on destabilizing pakistan, Pakistan will remain on the map of the earth with the grace of Almighty Alllah Inshallah

Paki "saints" by Hero Vaz on 10 Nov 2009

Sami,Pakis have plenty of drug money and American aid, which they are using against India. Yet, with the funds they have at their disposal, millions of Pakis are on one meal a day and millions are without proper schools and other basic facilities. This is because the corrupt, who are all over Pakistan at all levels and in every walk of life, are swallowing public funds and aid. And this is happening in an Islamic country. Shame on the Paki Muslims who are cheating their own fellow Muslims. The Paki Muslims have brought a bad name to Muslims and Islam.

Musharaf and Zardari-Two sides of same coins by PV SOMAN on 09 Nov 2009

I had the chance to talk to many Pakisthani people, while working in Dubai ,in a security company, and learnt from them that MR.Musharaaf was not liked by 99 percent of Pakisthanis in their country. They all were ,sincerely ,wanted to have good relationship with India .Such a people were misguided and mislead by these kind of power-mad military rulers and politicians, time and again there.Looting of essencial commodities became common scenes there beacuse of in-competent governance. If that countries president himself is a criminal as per the former president`s statement, whose actions also was of a criminal, by overthrowing a primeminister who was democratically elected by Pakisthani people. SO, Mr. Musharaaf, if your country is ruled by like you people, one cannot sight a prosperous Pakisthan in near future at all.During your tenure as president ,though by coup only, the terrorists well settled there, and your people are now paying the price .

"Honest" Muslim "General" by Hero Vaz on 09 Nov 2009

Musharraf did many crooked and illegal things to seize power, stay in power and to save his skin. He claimed he was a good Muslim but broke his solemn oath to Allah to uphold the Islamic country's constitution and serve honestly. He brazenly violated the Constitution, made dishonourable settlements with adversaries and misused aid to bring a bad name to Muslims and Islam. He even protected Zardari, a criminal and a fraud in his own words, from prosecution in his selfish interest. His manipulations, as an illegal President, caused immense harm to the public institutions of his country. Such a scoundrel has the gall to speak ill of others. Now, fearing arrest and prosecution for his misdeeds, he has taken refuge, like a funk, outside Pakistan bringing disgrace to his army rank of 'General'. He claims, obliquely, that he has the protection of the present army chief, who is his own man. Can an army General or any man sink lower?

Musarraf the truthful sincere leader Pakistan will miss forever!! by Abid Mohiuddin on 09 Nov 2009

Musharraf is Truthful, sincere and smart but not a lootera and did not make any money. Nawaz,Zardari are oppurtunists, have no credibility ,lives in exile and come back as hero Shame on our voters Need Musharraf Back!!!!!

That's rich - criticism of a corrupt politician coming from a treacherous gangster. by Arindam on 09 Nov 2009

The gangster general who destroyed Paki democracy in 1999, after deceitfully attacking India earlier that year, has no shame whatsoever. Compared to Musharraf, at least Zardari qualifies as a human being, albeit Mr. 5%. Musharraf isn't even a man.

Musharraf was far more better than zardai by waqas sami on 09 Nov 2009

Musharraf was far more better than Zardari, he don't have 14 billion dollars in foreign banks,he don't have palaces in UK he lives in a Three room flat, what zardari had before 90s one cinema in karachi and 100 acre land in Nawabshah what else now he is the richest man in Pakistan, he has made all his property from corrupt practices he is the most corrupt man on earth even his wife Shaheed Benazir didnt liked him,

Musharaff on Zardari by Harish Advani on 09 Nov 2009

This sounds like the old saying''The pot calling the kettle black''.

Pakistandesk.com by Tanzee on 09 Nov 2009

Based on past record of Mr. Zardari we have no reason not to believe in Musharraf's statement. Most of the time Zardari has broken promises. I don't think he's a presindential material at all.Daring statement of Musharraf I would say!
