* There is a very good quality mulberry tree growing near the house of a friend. How can I get a similar tree? Can I multiply it by cuttings?
Simran, Chandigarh
Yes, you can multiply it by way of cuttings. The success rate is almost cent percent. Make nine-ten inches long cuttings and insert three fourth in soil. Keep the medium moist. The cuttings will start in a few days. Do not disturb them till next year when they will go dormant, ready for transplanting.
* Can you suggest two trees that are aesthetically beautiful and have medicinal properties too?
Raminder Kaur, Mohali
Amaltas and Lahura are two such trees.
* I have two six-year-old Kinnow trees. Last year they had good fruit. What should I do to get good fruit this year too?
Manisha, Panchkula
First thing is removal of dead and dried wood from the tree. Add two full baskets of well rotten farmyard manure. Also add 30 grams of zinc sulphate in soil along with manure.
