Allahabad Just a day after Atiq Ahmed got reprieve after a court in Allahabad gave him bail in three cases, one of the complainants on Saturday alleged that he was kidnapped and forced to sign affidavits that led the court to grant him bail. On the complaint filed by Mahendra Patel, an eyewitness in Raju Pal murder case, police at Dhoomanganj have lodged an FIR under various Sections of the IPC, including kidnapping, fabricating false evidence and indulging in criminal conspiracy against Ahmed and his gang members.

The FIR stated that Patel was kidnapped by Gulful and Ashraf on Friday near his residence in Jhalwa. They took him to district court where they forced him to sign the affidavit prepared by the advocates of Ahmed. "Gulful and Ashraf, accused in the Raju Pal murder case, kidnapped me at gun point and threatened to eliminate my entire family if I opposed Ahmed’s bail," said Patel. SSP, Allahabad, B P Tiwari said police would investigate the matter. On Friday, Ahmed was granted bail in three separate cases related to allegations that he had threatened eyewitnesses. Currently lodged in the Naini Central jail, Ahmed is unlikely to be released until he gets bail in other cases pending against him.
