Lucknow, February 6 The Lakhimpur Kheri police on Wednesday traced three local businessmen who were kidnapped by unidentified men on January 26.

Yogendra Bhasin, Ameer Chand and Sita Rachi were found in the jungle of Jahelia in Shahjahanpur. The police, however, claimed that the kidnappers abandoned them after combing operations were expedited in Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur district.

The men were kidnapped while returning from Bhasin’s farmhouse in Kukra under Malani police circle. The next day, police found Bhasin’s Santro in Shahjahanpur.

The police got the tip-off that some unidentified persons used to buy medicines and food from a shop under the Bunda police circle in Shahjahanpur and carried them inside the jungle in Jahelia. “The businessmen had informed us that there were eight kidnappers,” said Lakhimpur Kheri’s Superintendent of Police N Ravindar.

Yogendra’s brother Gulshan Bhasin, who had lodged the FIR, said the kidnappers never contacted the family for a ransom.
