A passerby spotted Dr Sunil Ahuja’s body near Sabi drain in Dharuweda Industrial Area in Rewari district, around 50 kilometre from Gurgaon, and informed the police. The doctor was already dead when the police reached the spot, officers said.
“The body has been sent to Civil Hospital, Gurgaon, for postmortem. The cause of death can be ascertained once the report comes in,” a senior officer said. Sunil’s family had received a ransom call of Rs 20 lakh for his release.
Sunil had gone out on Tuesday in his Alto car to get it repaired, said his father Rajender Ahuja, also a dentist. The car was found abandoned in Sector 9, outside the Indian Oil petrol pump. Sunil stayed in Sector 4 with his wife, a nine-year-old son and parents. Police have registered a case of kidnapping and murder, but no arrests have been made so far.
