Three people died in two road accidents in Panchkula on Sunday.
One Kundan, 25, from Uttarakhand and Sunny, 24, from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, died after the canter they were in collided with a speeding truck near Saket Hospital on Chandimandir road late on Saturday.
Three others were injured in the accident. Th injured include the truck driver, Dev Kumar. The canter was being driven by Kundan.
The canter was on its way from Panchkula to Kalka while the truck was coming from the opposite side. An FIR has been registered against Dev Kumar.
In another incident, a 28-year-old resident of Manimajra, Kamal Singh, died and his friend Balwinder Singh was injured when their motorcycle rammed into a truck on the Amartex traffic lights in Panchkula on Sunday evening.
“Around 6.30 pm, Kamal Singh and his neighbour, Balwinder Singh, were on their way back home from Zirakpur where they had gone to attend the marriage of a friend. Near the Amartex traffic lights, the motorcycle was hit by a truck. The two were rushed to General Hospital, Sector 6 from where they were referred to PGI,” said a police officer.
He said Kamal was declared brought dead at PGIMER.
“Though the driver fled from the spot, his truck has been impounded. The postmortem will be conducted on Monday,” said the police officer.
