Accidents claim two lives in Panchkula

Panchkula, February 8 Road accidents claimed two lives in Panchkula on Friday. While a 20-year-old resident of Dera Bassi, Narender Singh, died on the spot after he was hit by a Haryana Roadways bus near Labour Chowk on the Sector 8/17 dividing road, a 30-year-old resident of Sector 26, Chandigarh, died after his motorcycle was hit by an Army truck on the Chandigarh-Kalka road near the Sector 6 entry point.

“Narender Singh was on his way towards Sector 8 when a Haryana Roadways bus (HR68/4370) hit his Hero Honda motorcycle from behind. While Narender died on the spot, the driver of the bus sped away,” said the police officer on duty.

In another incident, 30-year-old Ashok Kumar died when an Army truck hit his motorcycle near Sector 6. An officer said the truck was released after investigation. Both the bodies were handed over to the families after postmortem at the General Hospital, Sector 6.
