Accused in gun house loot case arrested

Moga One of the prime accused in the case of Hoshiarpur gun house loot, Chander Mohan alias Chandu, was arrested by the Moga police on Friday. Before he was nabbed, he fired six shots and injured Punjab Home Guard Gurdit Singh. The police have claimed to recover 500 grams of smack and a 0.32 bore revolver from him.

“On receiving a tip off, the police party went to a garage where Chandu’s vehicle was being serviced. On seeing the police, he opened fire and shot all six rounds from his revolver. When he ran out of ammunition, the police nabbed him,” said Moga SSP Ashok Baath, adding that the revolver used by Chandu was among the weapons looted from the gun house in Hoshiarpur.

The SSP said Chandu was involved in many criminal cases in various districts of the state.
