Bhiwani Employees of the Registration department of Bhiwani and advocates are up in arms against each other, bringing the functioning of the department to a halt.

The employees accuse the advocates for interfering with their work, whereas the latter blame them for corruption while dealing with their clients for registering property and issuing arms’ licence.

The situation reached a flashpoint when three days ago they pelted stones and beat up each other. Karamchand Singh Kartar, president of the Sarva Karamcharis Sangh, extended his support to the employees and demanded immediate arrest of the 25 advocates, who have been booked for damaging public property and assaulting the employees.

The Roadways Workers’ Union also extended its support to the employees and accused advocates for indulging in corruption by charging commission from their clients. On the other hand, advocates accused the employees of corruption and held a procession demanding immediate transfer of SDM Dushyant Kumar.

Pradeep Bajad, president of the District Bar Association, said protests would be intensified if adequate action against the SDM and employees accused of corruption is not taken by November 5.
