AFK shoot-out Tata Motors

Pune, January 11 Ammunition Factory, Khadki (AFK) had to wait for the tie-breaker to force a victory over fancied Tata Motors to lift the Industrial Sports Association Industrial football title at the latters ground, on Friday.

Having played out a scoreless regulation time, AFK had Samir Shaikh, Rajan Rangam and Lakshman Maran find the net, while the host’s could only reduce the margin by one through R Shamallu.

KNIGHT’S SCORE 6: Knight’s ‘B’ registered the best win of the day by scoring six goals against a hapless Telecom FC in the Guru Teg Bahadur knock-out football tournament at the Ghorpuri Military ground, on Friday. The architect of the win was Shree Molangir who netted a brace.

Djibouti, Sudan WIN: Djibouti and Sudan scored identical 2-0 wins over Mauritius and Saudi Arabia respectively in the Symbiosis International football meet at Station Workshop EME ground, Range Hills, on Friday.

Djibouti: 2 (Nasser 52nd, Omar Aden 55th) b Mauritius: 0; Sudan: 2 (Toufiq Osman 5th, Motassen 45th) b Saudi Arabia: 0.
