Dhruv Mochhi (18) allegedly guzzled more than a litre of kerosene from a can in his house in Thakorevas in the Amraiwadi area around noon. He was rushed to the L G Hospital and is now out of danger.
The police said Dhruv is a student of Somnath Secondary School in Amraiwadi. His father, Ghanshyam, works in a private factory, while his mother is a housewife. “His family members told us that Dhruv used to remain anxious because of the board examinations, which are scheduled to begin from mid-March. He was afraid of failing in the exams,” said Investigating Officer, Amraiwadi Head Constable Balwant Gohil.
The police have recorded Dhruv’s statement. “Dhruv confessed that he was depressed and thought that he would fail in the boards,” Gohil added.
