After 39 yrs in service, Inspector retires

Chandigarh, February 29 After spending 39 years and 22 days in UT Police force, Chandigarh Police Inspector Jasmohan Singh retired from his services today. Singh joined the Chandigarh Police as Constable on February 7, 1969 and was promoted to the rank of Head Constable in May 1974. He was again promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector in November 1979 and Sub-Inspector in October 1983. Promoted as an Inspector on December 15, 1989, Jasmohan retired today, after remaining an Inspector in the Chandigarh Police for about 19 years.

Singh was one of the four police officers of the Chandigarh Police who were trained in Delhi on speed-radars, first introduced in Chandigarh in 1980. He served in various wings of the Chandigarh Police including police stations, vigilance, crime against women cell and CID. He also remained Station House Officer of Police Station-19, after which he was posted as Staff Officer to UT Inspector General of Police and was given charge of Inspector (Press).

Singh was awarded President Police Medal for meritorious services on the Independence Day in 1992. He has been awarded 155 Commendation Certificates by various Inspector Generals of Police for his work in various fields.

Inspector Singh was given a farewell party at Police Headquarters in Sector 9 today by Inspector General of Police SK Jain and other senior officials of UT Police, including Deputy Inspector General of Police Vivek Gogia and Senior Superintendent of Police SS Srivastava.
