North Zone as well as All-India champions DACR completed dominated match and they showed their intension right from the start by playing an attacking game. Some good coordination between Neeraj Chaudhary and Rishi saw the Delhi team take lead in the very second minute. Neeraj foxed UP defenders and then landed a perfect pass to Rishi and the forward made no mistake in directing the ball into the goal. The UP team tried their best to keep their opposition shut but was unable to do so. Meanwhile, Rishi was again on target as he pulled off a stunning solo goal in the 20th minute. Dribbling the ball past the UP defenders, Rishi made his way into the box before unleashing a powerful shot that the UP custodian failed to keep away. The third goal from Barinder virtually ended the hopes of a final berth for UP.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final match between AG Punjab and AG Haryana, the former defeated the latter by 3-1 via tie-breaker. AG Haryana custodian Kulwinder Singh was towering figure under the bar as his heroics in the tie-breaker saw the team sial into the finals. Not only he made several close saves but also instilled confidence among his team-mates with his performance. Punjab's attack seemed toothless in front of Kulwinder. Haryana's Daljeet Singh twice came close to scoring but he missed the sitters. In the tie-breaker, Kulwinder saved Deepak's, Jatinder's and Vinay Kanwar's penalties.
Harvinder, Deepak Gurang and Sanjeev Deopa converted the penalties for Haryana.
DACR Delhi and AG Haryana, who have qualified for the Inter-Zonal Football Tournament, will locks horns in the final on Wednesday at 2:30 pm.
