The letter states that schoolbags of children up to class XII should be maintained in the school itself. It further states that schools must follow the number of textbooks prescribed by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for that class.
Reacting to it, Anita Pandit, principal, of Sardar Dastur Nosherwan Girls’ High School said that similar methods are already been practiced in the school. “However, the NCERT plan to print textbooks term-wise will also help in reducing the weight of choolbag,” she said.
