Pune, January 5 With the arrival of the New Year, the Air India has announced three short-term promotional schemes called Touch-25, Touch West and Triple-9.

While the first two schemes are applicable during the first quarter of the year, the last — the only one that engages Pune passengers — is valid for tickets bought from January 5 to 20, said area marketing manager of Air India, Dhairyashil Vandekar on Saturday.

As per the Touch-25 scheme, a passenger who completes 25 air journeys on IC or AI code flights between Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore, during three months, is entitled to get a reward of one free return ticket to any one of the global metro cities — New York, London or Shanghai. The gateways to fly to these cities would be Delhi or Mumbai. The reward ticket would be of an economy class on AI code flight.

“The beneficiary can use this ticket himself or give it to another person. He needs to submit the claim form by June 30, 2008 and the reward ticket can be used till December 31 2008. The passenger needs to pay the applicable taxes, fees and fuel surcharge,” said Vandekar.

In the Touch-West scheme, if a passenger completes a business class return trip to the US, UK, Canada or Europe on AI code flights during the designated period of three months, he will get a reward of unlimited travel within India in executive class for seven days at a stretch. In this case, it is mandatory to use the reward ticket by the same passenger. “Both schemes are open to Indian and foreigners purchasing tickets in India only,” he said.

The third scheme, Triple-9, offers a fare of Rs 999 for air-travel on IC code flights only on selected domestic sectors, on the tickets bought between January 5 and 20. The travel validity would just be for two months- April and March. Pune passengers flying to three sectors — Delhi, Bangalore and Goa — will be able to make use of this scheme, he said.
